Pre-sessional Entry Requirements

Pre-sessional Academic English in 2021

Pre-sessional programmes in 2021 will be delivered in a range of formats. Face-to-face blended learning, online and combined. You will be assessed at the end of your programme so that you are able to continue your journey to your chosen degree of study in the 2021/22 academic year.

You need to hold an offer to study a King's degree. 

English language entry requirements 

Each Pre-sessional course has different entry requirements depending on the English language level needed by each academic department.

PLEASE NOTE: students who hold unconditional offers are welcome to register for our 6-week Pre-sessional or 6-week Combined Pre-sessional courses.

English language tests

International students 

If you need to apply for a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK, we can usually only accept results from a UKVI approved IELTS and Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic test with your application. However, if you are applying to our 6-week Pre-Sessional or our 6-week Combined Pre-Sessional courses, you may be eligible for an integrated Tier 4 visa, which allows us to accept a wider range of English language tests.
