King’s is a research-intensive university with a global reputation for academic discovery and teaching. King’s College London and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) are collaborating to offer a unique PhD experience, providing students with the opportunity to conduct research both at King’s and with an A*STAR Research Institute and Supervisor in Singapore.

Fully-funded Studentships:

Up to three 4-year fully-funded PhDs are available to commence in October 2024. The successful candidates will have both a King’s College London and an A*STAR Supervisor.

Projects available for funding can be found in our Project Catalogue. All projects offer the opportunity to spend a minimum of 18 months and a maximum of 24 months at A*STAR in Singapore as part of the research and training programme.

Projects available will fall within one of the following themes:

  1. Cells, Molecules and the Basis of Health and Disease
  2. Neuroscience and Mental Health
  3. Biomedical Engineering and Medical Imaging

Award value

Each studentship is fully funded for four years, including tuition fees and a tax-free stipend (which is in line with UKRI funding for research training whilst at King's College London).
