Intercalated BScs: Entry Requirements

For students applying from outside of King's, this information should be read alongside the instructions on our how to apply page. Please note, only students studying at UK or Ireland institutions will be considered.

Entry requirements for MBBS students

King’s students must have passed Stage 1 and Stage 2.
External students must have first time passes for years 1 and 2 and all SSCs.


Being found to have committed academic misconduct – e.g. plagiarism – may be taken into account when setting offer conditions or even deciding to offer a place.

Entry requirements for Dental students

BDS students are required to pass year 2 at the first attempt and year 3 or 4 if applicable.

Entry requirements for Veterinary students

Veterinary students are required to pass year 2 at the first attempt and year 3 if applicable.

Personal statement

You will be required to provide a short statement to support your application (this applies to all ISBc programmes)

Statements should be a maximum of 300 words and address the following:

  1. Why you are interested in studying the programme.

  2. Your previous exposure/experience of the subject area (this could include previous study, reading or personal interest).

  3. What you hope to gain from the programme, including how it fits in which your future career or study plans.
