Cinematheque

The Department of Film Studies at King's greatly values cinema as a group screening experience. Many of our modules involve weekly film screenings in specially-equipped screening rooms. However, once or twice every week, our Cinematheque film screenings are open to all students, staff, and alumni of King's and the wider University of London.

Cinematheque screenings take place in the Arthur and Paula Lucas Lecture Theatre on the Strand campus where films are projected digitally or on 35mm celluloid.

The films shown at Cinematheque screenings also form part of the undergraduate or postgraduate curriculum, which varies from year to year, as do the screenings.

Most Cinematheque screenings begin with a brief introduction of the film by one of our expert staff members
