ELECTRONIC, MECHANICAL & TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING RESEARCH
The Division of Engineering has an excellent record in research with many of the projects our staff work on receiving external funding from industry, funding councils and the EU (around £2.3M in 2007). Staff also have a strong publication record, speak regularly at conferences, and are involved in consultancy, editorial and review work.
An MPhil or PhD degree requires students to undertake original research work under the supervision of two members of academic staff. All students initially register for an MPhil, with the opportunity to transfer to a PhD after 6 to 18 months (subject to passing a transfer viva).
Current research is undertaken in the following areas (please follow the links for further information):
As part of the application process you are asked to name your potential supervisor(s) and provide a 200 word description of your research project. This should be put in section 8 of the application form.
