Department of Computer Science
Education and research in a world class university at the heart of London
Our department has gained an enviable reputation in academia and industry for the quality of our research and the high calibre of our graduates. Each year, hundreds of students from the UK and abroad seek admission to our BSc, MSc and PhD programmes. At the same time, each of our research sections attracts a high level of research funding, in particular from UK and European sources, and we are actively involved in research in the areas of algorithm design, bioinformatics, software engineering, agents and intelligent systems, logic and theory of computing.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), Computer Science at King's has been rated as having 70% of our research outputs as world leading or internationally excellent. In addition, 95% of all our research activity (with 96% of academic staff submitted) is at least internationally recognised. The RAE thus confirms our position as a world class institution for research in Computer Science.
