The King’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence brings together the diverse and growing community in artificial intelligence (AI) at King’s College London.

The very significant activity in AI across King's reflects fundamental technical developments as well as the wider implications of AI in society, its impact on business and industry, the relevance of legislation and regulation and emerging issues that need to be addressed. A holistic perspective on AI must draw on social science, law, and philosophy, and involve experts from diverse application domains.

The King's Institute for Artificial Intelligence has the dual mission:

  • to support and promote the breadth of AI activity across King’s, in both research and education, inviting students and academics to contribute to scientific and technological developments as well as to legal, societal and ethical studies; and

  • to engage with policymakers and the general public and provide a transparent scientific analysis of developments that affect our lives, now and in the future.
