Capacity building activities

Our Centre aims to build social science and mental health research capacity, both within and beyond the Centre, through structured pathways for early career researcher (ECR) development, through education and training programmes, and opportunities to engage with our international partners and organisations outside of academia. Below are some of the capacity building activities offered through the Centre (information on each will be added as it becomes available): 

  • Individual mentoring for early career researchers 
  • Career development workshops 
  • Grant writing support and peer feedback sessions 
  • Writing retreats
  • Impact, public engagement, and knowledge exchange training 
  • Visiting fellows exchange programme 
  • Internships with policy and community organisations
  • Associated PhD studentships 
  • Sponsorships of funding applications for PhD studentships and postdoctoral fellowships 
  • Introductory and advanced training workshops, short courses, and hands-on demonstrations
  • Postgraduate training 
  • Online MSc module in Social, Genetic & Environmental Basis on Mental Health
  • MSc in Society and Mental Health (forthcoming)
