Next generation of researchers

Our Centre aims to produce a step-change in social science and mental health research capacity through a strong commitment to the development of researchers across all career stages, from research assistants to professors, and provision of a suite of education and training programmes and opportunities to train the next generation of research leaders.

Together with establishing social research programmes that shape social policy and strategies for prevention, and creating long-term partnerships, this will help realise our ambition of establishing a sustainable Centre that will be at the forefront of social research, policy, and interventions in mental health globally for the next 10 years and beyond.

Supporting our early career researchers

Our commitment to supporting and developing the next generation of research leaders runs through all we do in the Centre. The long-term sustainability of the Centre rests on this and, in particular, on our being able to retain and secure – in permanent positions at King’s – our leading early- to mid- career academics. In this video, Centre staff tell us about the professional development support we offer to our early career researchers.
