Make Do Play

Every Thursday during term time is Make Do Play day!

Did you know that drawing lowers your heart rate? Dancing and singing reduces stress? Craft increases your ability to focus? And if you feel better, you do better – at your studies and in your day-to-day life.

Look out for the Make Do Play team popping up across the four campuses in Autumn and Spring to invite all King’s students to try creative activities which can enhance your mental wellbeing. Come take a break, meet new people and get creative.

What you can expect:

  • Drop-in to our informal creative sessions across Strand, Waterloo, Denmark Hill and Guy's. Chat, relax, make, do and play.
  • Book onto one of our facilitated workshops with an artist and try something new. No experience nescessary.
  • Sign up for weekly creative prompts directly to your inbox to help you maintain your creative habits.
  • Refillable 'creative first-aid kits' for you to take away and play at home.

This year Make Do Play is partnered with:

We are currently putting the finishing touches to the programme. Check back during Welcome Week to find out when the next Make Do Play day is, for this term's workshops and to sign up for the launch party.

You can also follow @CulturalKings on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and sign up for our student newsletter.

The Research

We all know that an active, healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet can improve our wellbeing, but how many of us are looking after our creative health?
