Did you know that drawing lowers your heart rate? Dancing and singing reduces stress? Craft increases your ability to focus?

Make Do Play is an annual programme which encourages staff and students in the #KingsCulturalCommunity to take part in creative activities for their wellbeing.

Online Creative Prompts

Every week we share a creative prompt via social media or direct to your inbox, challenging the #KingsCulturalCommunity to take time out during their week to engage in creativity. Prompts are designed for staff and students of all abilities and can be done with regular household items.

Workshops and Events

Every Thursday during term times the team ran a full weekly programme of live events and workshops -
  • Informal creative drop-in sessions at cafes in Strand, Waterloo, Denmark Hill and Guy's to create, chat and take away refillable 'creative first-aid kits'.
  • Facilitated workshops with artists to learn something new from an expert.

This year Make Do Play partnered with:

Campus Conversations | Positive Peers  | Project X | KCLSU Wellbeing | Take Time Out/In | and a wide range of amazing artists, creatives and arts organisations...

The Research

We all know that an active, healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet can improve our wellbeing, but how many of us are looking after our creative health?
