PhD

A pioneer in the field of Digital Humanities, we were the first department in the world to offer a PhD in the subject. 


 

Study in a department ranked first in the UK (along with the Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries) for research power in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021)

Undertaking a PhD with us, you’ll be able to research ways in which digital information technologies are transforming the humanities, arts, culture and society. You'll look at the impact of the globalisation of information and how we might better understand our digital selves, culture and society, or research the interaction of technology and digital content with cultural and social processes, with how we read and publish and how we create and keep memories.  

You can choose to research solely with us or take a collaborative PhD with other departments such as Classics, History, English  and Culture, Media & Creative Industries

 
Qualification(s): MPhil  PhD 
Duration: Expected to be three years FT, four-six years PT. October to October, February to February or June to June.

Take a PhD in Digital Humanities at King's College London or a joint PhD with the National University of Singapore.
