Study in London for an alternative perspective on the history and politics of Europe and beyond. Shape and specialise your interests and develop within the largest concentration of scholars in the field of politics, public policy and international studies in Europe. King's College is ranked the fifth best in Europe for the study of politics (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026) and the 11th best globally. We offer challenging and enriching programmes including European Studies BA and Politics and International Affairs BA.

The department finds its home in the centre of London, minutes away from the Houses of Parliament, giving scholars the opportunity to interact with the political and cultural institutions of this global capital city.

European Studies allows students to combine the study of a language with the politics, history and contemporary culture of France, Germany or Spain. No prior knowledge of French, German or Spanish is required for the ab initio  version of these pathways, you will learn the language from scratch. Our new BA in Politics & International Affairs, meanwhile, is an intellectually challenging and exciting course offering an in-depth knowledge of politics and government.
