Enhance your LinkedIn profile with a digital certificate and badge
At King’s, we value our alumni and are fortunate to have alumni volunteers who are committed to supporting our efforts in making the world a better place through service. In the Alumni Office, alumni volunteers can receive digital credentials to recognise their volunteering commitments and efforts. Digital credentials are made up of a digital certificate and a digital badge which can be shared on LinkedIn with your wider network and prospective employers.
We have introduced a new way of officially recognising our amazing alumni volunteers in a digital way, made possible through a partnership with the digital certification platform, Accredible.
We will have four different types of volunteer recognition on offer:
International Alumni Leaders are volunteers (or a group of volunteers) in a country or city who, together with the King’s Alumni Office, play a pivotal role in driving local alumni activities. As an International Alumni Leader, you have an opportunity to maintain a lifelong connection to King’s. You can do this by creating and engaging with local alumni communities, planning events for alumni, acting as a point of contact for alumni new to the area, and sharing King's successes with alumni networks.
Alumni volunteers are alumni who have actively given their time to volunteer at various King’s specific activities. For example, as an alumni events speaker, a Global Day of Service volunteer or Advisory Group or Council Member.
Alumni mentors support a student on a six-month mentoring programme or a group mentoring programme which seeks to inspire and shape future talent for the working world.
Mentees are students who have completed a six-month alumni mentoring programme or completed a group mentoring programme to help enhance their professional development and boost their employability.
Whether you are supporting King’s students through a mentoring programme, speaking on a careers panel or helping at our events, digital credentials can be a powerful tool to showcase your volunteering achievement. Not only will you be able to sync your credentials with your LinkedIn profile, but you will also have the flexibility to share your digital badge on your social media channels and add it to your email signature. All issued digital credentials will be verified, enhancing the credibility of your volunteering achievements if you choose to share this with your wider network on LinkedIn.

What is a digital credential?
Digital credentials consist of a digital certificate and a digital badge. They are the equivalent of paper-based credentials (like a certificate) which are issued by an authorised institution. Digital credentials provide verifiable information about your volunteering achievement which can also be shared with your wider network on LinkedIn.
How do I get my digital certificate and badge?
All alumni volunteers who actively give time to King’s via the Alumni Office will receive an email with details on how to access their digital certificate and badge.
How can I use my certificate and badge?
If volunteering is part of your professional development, using digital credentials showcases your achievement.
All alumni volunteers can sync their digital certificate and badge to their LinkedIn profile under the ‘Licenses & Certifications’ section and share via the LinkedIn network as well as prospective employers. As an alumni volunteer, you can print your own certificate with a bespoke QR code, that you can then scan on your phone to see the digitised version.

I volunteer with King's but haven't received a digital credential
If you have recently volunteered or are an active volunteer and have not received an email, you can complete a short form to verify your activity and we can issue a digital credential for you.
I have received my digital credential, but wish to make a name change on my certificate. How do I do this?
