Change the world with us

At King’s, we know there isn’t just one solution to any complex problem. We have experts who tackle today’s biggest challenges from different perspectives. Here, nano scientists work with historians, medical professionals with social science experts, artists with experts in philosophy.

For example:

Together with psychologists from the IOPPN, King’s Dr Oya Celiktutan is developing humanoid robots that will be the basis of the next generation of robots. They will use machine learning to learn how to act in concert with humans, as well as eventually having the capacity to support autism diagnoses and understand depression by reading human emotional characteristics and facial expressions.

This was a great opportunity for us to see the challenges when robots are used in real-world home environments and assisting people living with Motor Neurone Disease.

Viktor Schmuck, a King's PhD student who supervised our Human Support Robot trial

Over the last 200 years, we’ve influenced many of the advances that have shaped modern life. Previous generations have made this progress possible. And now, the next generation need you to join the community who support our work.

Read our 2022 'Thank you' report for more research stories and find out how our supporters are making a difference.

Show your support

Your gift has the power to do incredible things right now. Thanks to your support, we could be telling a student they’ve received a bursary or telling a researcher we’ve secured funding for the specialist equipment they need to make a breakthrough.

It’s your donation so you decide how you give it – whether that’s regularly via Direct Debit, leaving a gift in your will or perhaps even in memory of someone. All payments to King’s College London are securely processed. For more information, read our Privacy Policy:

Every gift, large or small makes an incredible difference to projects across King’s. Whether that’s funding scholarships, bursaries and support to help students reach their full potential, or giving our researchers access to the equipment and funds they need to make lifesaving breakthroughs in areas such as blood disease, cardiology and COVID-19.

The Kingsmakers are a group of alumni and donors who give regular financial support to the university and are passionate about supporting students. By setting up a regular gift, you’ll give more students the opportunity to experience a world-class education in the heart of London.

The Kingsmaker Guild is a group of alumni who show their passion for supporting King's students by giving £1,000 per year.

By supporting us with an annual gift of £1,000 (or monthly direct debit of £84 per month), we will welcome you to the Kingsmaker Guild. As a member, you will receive personalised updates throughout the year, exclusive invites to events and the knowledge that you are helping to transform the university and the experience of our students.

Giving isn’t all about money – your time is priceless. There are lots of different ways to get involved, from joining our events to organising your own, sharing your memories of King’s to talking to current students. We’re here to help you find opportunities to volunteer and empower you to make a difference.

The Key to King’s Bursary Fund is supported by a very special group of alumni who are unlocking extraordinary opportunities for talented students. The minimum donation requirement is £5,000 a year, which will help fund an undergraduate student bursary for a year. By choosing to support at this level, Key to King’s supporters will receive information from the Student Funding Office about how Key to King’s Bursaries are assessed and exclusive updates about some of our student beneficiaries.

By donating to King’s, you have the power to support a cause you care about

Like providing critical data on COVID-19, with King’s researchers identifying new symptoms and impacting healthcare services and policy globally. We've also been finding new ways to support the mental health of front line care workers.

Our sector-leading programmes give students from under-served communities the opportunity to realise their full educational potential. And by opening our doors, refugees and asylum seekers have been provided with a home as well as an education.

We are committed to creating a real and tangible difference in the world and your support, in its many forms, allows us to continue to find the answer to important questions.
