Postgraduate taught degrees

The programmes in the Department of Informatics are designed to help you to develop existing skills gained from your undergraduate degree and work experience, and to assist you in acquiring new skills and new ways of thinking and reasoning.

Informatics programmes require you to study eight taught modules and one project. Different modules have different ways of assessing your work, and the amount that each piece of work counts towards your final mark also varies depending on the subject. A project is completed mainly over the summer months and you will have an expert supervisor to provide advice and guidance. The project helps you to gain important transferable skills such as project management, time management and presenting your work. These are skills that employers look for in graduates.
