Each year, King's presents the Chevening Distinguished Lecture as part of its commitment to hosting the Chevening Financial Services Leadership Programme – a UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office fellowship scheme for India, aimed at mid-career financial services professionals with demonstrable leadership potential.
The Chevening Financial Services Leadership Programme is hosted by the School of Global Affairs and the King’s Business School.
The 2022 Chevening Distinguished Lecture was delivered by bestselling author and historian William Dalrymple. The lecture was chaired by Professor Niraja Jayal, Avantha Chair, King’s India Institute.
