CREATES: A Europe-wide strategic project to develop best practice in student-led education
The most exciting way the Liberal Arts department is engaged in best practice-sharing on a European scale is our involvement in the Erasmus+ strategic partnership CREATES (‘Creating Responsive, Engaging, and Tailored Education with Students’), for which Liberal Arts director Dr Helen Brookman is institutional lead.
Along with our five European partners, we were awarded 425,137€ for a three-year partnership, 2017-2020. This partnership presents an exciting opportunity for King’s to be at the forefront of innovative education practices in Europe that position students as the creators of their education – both on the curriculum level (as in Liberal Education/flexible curriculum programmes) and on the module level/in the classroom (i.e. incorporating active/independent/student-led elements), with the aim of facilitating students to take ownership of and responsibility for their own learning.
