Alumni

The BA in Liberal Arts and MA in Global Cultures are relatively new programmes at King's. However, our first cohorts of alumni are already making a real impact in the world, going on to study at postgraduate level or shifting into a huge variety of different career pathways.

The versatile Liberal Arts degree – with its integrated opportunities to gain professional experience and its emphasis on acquiring and recognising a wide-ranging and distinctive skillset for the worlds of work and study – allows our former students to seize exciting opportunities and respond flexibly to the challenges that await them after graduation.

At postgraduate level, the Global Cultures programme is equipping professionals with the tools to thrive in the modern workplace, offering a fully online course that fits around their other commitments.

The department maintains links with many of its alumni, often inviting them to visit and speak to our current students about their experiences and the ways they have put their unique degree to use.

Liberal Arts graduate directs award-winning film

Reuben Hamlyn (Liberal Arts BA, 2018) directed movie Another Body, which explores how deep-fake technology is used against women. The film premiered at the South By Southwest Film Festival and won the Special Jury Award for a Documentary.

'At school, studying wasn’t much fun,' said Reuben. 'King’s changed that. It was the first time I felt excited to be learning and researching. I retain that excitement today.’
