King’s contributions to the understanding of human anatomy date back to the seventeenth century, with the pioneering work of Thomas Wharton.

King’s Anatomy has long been linked to the production of Gray’s Anatomy. The current editor, Professor Susan Standring is emeritus professor and a former Head of Anatomy (to 2009).
