Through the Strand Group, the Policy Institute offers a Government Studies MA featuring a range of pioneering modules delivered in partnership with organisations like No. 10 Downing Street and HM Treasury, as well as the opportunity to learn from practitioners and policymakers, such as former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls, alongside leading academics at the forefront of their fields.

The Policy Institute also offers a PhD in Applied Public Policy, which focuses on research that helps to shape policy and practice and achieves lasting impacts in the real world, while at the same time preparing students for future careers in academia, think tanks, or governments.

Postgraduate short online courses

Offered through the International School for Government at King's, our executive education short courses are flexible, fully online and uniquely blend academic rigour and practical application to equip public servants and policy practitioners across the world with the skills and knowledge they need to be effective. Each four-week course is designed for mid-career professionals and is accredited at master’s level.
