January - February Train Strike Action

London Life - Travel

Industrial action by transport unions is scheduled to take place on the following dates affecting different train companies on different days. Some national rail services may start later on the days following strike action. Please check before you travel National Rail.

  • Tuesday 30 January – Southeastern, Southern, Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Thameslink, South Western Railway and SWR Island Line
  • Wednesday 31 January – Northern Trains, TransPennine Express
  • Friday 2 February – Greater Anglia, C2C, LNER
  • Monday 5 February – Great Western, CrossCountry, Chiltern

The London Underground (Tube) is expected to run as usual.

If you are unsure whether your journey will be affected, please use the National Rail website and TFL journey planner to find out more. You can also check the latest status of tube, rail and trams. Information on accessible routes can be found using the TfL Transport Accessibility page and TfL Plan a Journey which can be filtered to include step-free routes, bus routes, and reduced walking options.

The university will be open as usual and teaching will go ahead on campus as scheduled unless your department tell you otherwise.

Some access points to our buildings may be closed. Please look out for signs directing you to the nearest entrance or exit.
