We’re pleased to share that King’s has improved across all areas in both the National Student Survey (NSS) for undergraduates and the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES).
These surveys are run every year and are open to students in the final year of their course. They are an important way to help us understand what matters most to you, what’s working and where we need to do better. When you share your experience through surveys like these, you can help shape a better King’s for everyone.
What the results say
This year, 75% of final-year undergraduates (4,480 students) completed the NSS, and almost 4,000 postgraduate taught students took part in PTES.
While our latest survey results show we’re making positive progress, they also show how important it is to continue our work to improve our students’ experience.
NSS overview and highlights
Image 1: Improvement across all themes: Positive responses per theme and year-on-year change.
Our average score across core NSS questions rose to 79.8%, a 4.3% increase from last year. The results also highlighted some of the progress we’re making in areas students have previously told us we can do better. For example, Student Voice is our biggest area of improvement showing more of you feel your feedback is listened to and acted upon.
Longer term, we’ve been working to improve our two lowest scoring areas of Organisation & Management and Assessment & Feedback, and our results this year show increased positivity for both.
Our most positive responses were in the areas of Teaching, Learning Resources and Academic Support. For example, over 90% of you told us our teaching staff explain things clearly and that library resources support your learning effectively.

Our largest increase is in Assessment & Feedback, which has a 76% satisfaction score and 5% higher than 2024.
