National Rail strikes

The Aslef union has announced two days of strike action on:

  • Saturday 30 September
  • Wednesday 4 October

The union has also announced an overtime ban on Friday 29 September and from Monday 2 to Friday 6 October.

On the days where full strike action is taking place, there is likely to be little or no services across large areas of the network. Services are also likely to be disrupted and start later on the day immediately following a full strike day.

Tube Strikes

The RMT union has also announced two days of strike action on:

  • Wednesday 4 October
  • Friday 6 October

Severe disruption is planned across the whole Tube network. There will be no Night Tube on Friday 6 October.

Tube services the following mornings will also be affected (Thursday 5 and Saturday 7 October).

The university will be open as usual and teaching will go ahead on campus as scheduled unless your department tells you otherwise. 

Some access points to our buildings may be closed. Please look out for signage directing you to the nearest entrance or exit. 

If you are travelling to and from campus, please check the National Rail and Transport for London websites before you travel. Buses and taxis will be very busy on the strike days and you should allow extra time for your journey.
