Over the last year the Student Experience Working Group (SEWG) has developed the purpose and structure of the Student Experience Committee (SEC), which will have the institutional accountability necessary to enable King’s to deliver the goals underpinning the vision for a world class student experience and the joint KCL/KCLSU Relationship Agreement.
The SEC aims to deliver a transformative education by building a community of learners, caring about learners on an individual basis and designing mainstream interventions that remove all forms of inequality in learner engagement, retention and success.
SEWG has been and the SEC will be co-chaired between the Director of Students and Education and the KCLSU Vice-President for Education (Arts & Sciences). Both chairs have contributed to meeting agendas and taken it in turns to lead different items for discussion. This format has worked well, but relies on staff to help co-ordinate input and organise preparatory meetings with the student co-chair in order to make it most effective.
