Current Projects

Information on the current Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Programme Projects and the benefits they seek to realise are provided below.  

Please note, the response to COVID-19 has reprioritised activities and formed the Digital Learning and Assessment Sub-Group. Further information on the subgroup activities are available from www.kcl.ac.uk/teachlearntech.

Classroom/Physical Space Development

Project Overview 

To evaluate the current use of teaching spaces, create innovative pilot teaching spaces for contextual testing and evaluation and to review / produce a report on how our current teaching estate is being used. E.g. subject, size, teaching session 

This project seeks to realise the following benefits: 

  • To provide innovative/experimental classroom spaces for testing. 

  • To provide guidance on how to inform future space developments.  

  • To engage staff with new teaching possibilities supported by physical space and technology. 

  • To understand current space use to feed into a variety of future projects contained within the TEL programme.  

TEL Templates

Project Overview 

The creation of a set of centrally managed templates/guides to assist lecturers and dedicated TEL professionals and to improve on several areas of the production process for online teaching and learning content.  

 This project seeks to realise the following benefits: 

  • To ensure pedagogical principles are embedded within the different types of learning materials and that those are suited to an online environment. 

  • To establish a set of best practises requirements to achieve the publication of accessible and usable resources. 

  • To ensure a consistent experience for student and staff.  

  • To embed best practice content creation at an institutional level enabling better support and future proofing.
