Standing Conference on Academic Practice (SCAP)

Standing Conference on Academic Practice (SCAP)

Annoucement: SCAP will be taking a break in 2017. Please come back in 2018 for news of future events.

SCAP participants share a concern for academic work in higher education, taking an holistic view of academic role and exploring it from an academic perspective. SCAP therefore has a distinctive and valuable place among the communities that are concerned with higher education. SCAP participants are active in development and research roles in higher education.

For many years, colleagues have found SCAP to be a useful and enjoyable place to gain some new ideas and to talk informally with supportive colleagues. Discussions focus on both policy and practice and on their interconnections.

Our main SCAP event is a two-day annual conference, which takes place each summer at Scarman House, University of Warwick. Feedback is always extremely positive, with colleagues commenting that they find SCAP both useful and enjoyable.  If you are interested in coming to a SCAP event, please get in touch with Lauren Cracknell, SCAP administrator, or contact a member of the Planning Group.
