KCLSU and Student Volunteering

  • KCLSU student societies and sport clubs are running volunteering projects in the local community, or students can volunteer through the Students’ Union to support their peers, promote wellbeing and make their university experience even better.
  • Got an idea for a way to make a difference? Find out how to design and deliver a volunteering project of your own. You could even receive funding to turn your plan into a reality.
  • From FIFA tournaments and sponsored walks to bake sales and bucket collections, there are so many ways to raise money for the causes you care about. You can either fundraise for charity, or help to fund your society or club.
  • If you know somebody who has made a contribution to society through volunteering, nominate them for KCLSU's Volunteer of the Month. You can nominate yourself, a friend or a student you know of that is doing something great in the community.
  • Find out more about volunteering with KCLSU online.
  • There are also many extra-curricular activities for students at King’s where you can meet new people, develop skills, gain experience and make a difference.

Volunteering-thumb4

"I volunteer at a Community Fridge in Merton using my Service Time, and I spread my allowance over a long period as they only need me once every fortnight for an hour and a half to sort, weigh and store the donated food. I'd recommend volunteering to anyone as it is hugely rewarding, you can make a difference to other people's lives and help the environment by redistributing perfectly good food to the local community that would otherwise end up in landfill. I think it is great that King's supports volunteering and would love to see more people using their 3 days of Service Time."
