Reward & Recognition

The King’s Volunteering reward and recognition scheme aims to recognise the value and contribution that our community makes, in service to society.

Informed by feedback from across the university, our reward and recognition scheme aims to thank our volunteering community for their contributions to our local, national and global communities. It will continue to evolve and develop, and if you have any feedback of what you’d like to see, please email volunteer@kcl.ac.uk

In order to qualify for this programme, volunteering hours must be submitted and verified via the King’s Volunteering platform. Sign up to King's Volunteering and find out more about recording volunteer hours

Rewards

Volunteers will be able to access certificates and digital awards to display on their CVs and profiles in recognition of their contribution to society.

Varying levels of rewards and badges will be awarded, with certificates given at both 36 and 100 hours of community volunteering.

Connect on LinkedIn

We have partnered with King’s Sport & Wellness to give all students and staff who sign up to King's Volunteering 1500 points to be redeemed via King's Move.

Volunteers can also receive 100 points for each hour that is verified via King's Volunteering. Please note that points will be uploaded to users' accounts at the end of each month.

When volunteers complete and submit 36 hours of volunteering, they will be rewarded with a small gift from King's Volunteering - a limited edition large size tote bag.

Please contact the King's Volunteering team by emailing volunteer@kcl.ac.uk to arrange collection.

We are currently working with colleagues at the University to recognise volunteering hours as part of your HEAR, we hope that this will be in place before the end of the academic year 22/23 to be recognised for the forthcoming graduation ceremonies.

Students who volunteer for 36 hours will have this recognised on their HEAR, with any students undertaking 100hrs also receiving a Dean’s Commendation. All hours will need to be submitted by 31st April 2023.
