Studying in the India Institute
Teaching at King's India Institute approaches South Asian studies from a distinctive perspective studying contemporary economic, political and social transformation in the context of globalisation. The Institute currently offers MA Modern India, MA South Asia & Global Security and PhD Contemporary India Research. From September 2013, we will also offer MRes in Contemporary India.
King's India Institute is a hub for faculty and students who study India and South Asia across King's College. It is one of a number of ‘Arts & Sciences Cross-School Initiatives’ at King’s, i.e. initiatives which span the multiple disciplines offered by the Schools of Arts & Humanities, Social Science & Public Policy, Natural & Mathematical Sciences, and Law. Programmes offered under the Cross-School Initiatives benefit from teaching from a number of Schools, creating positive synergies across all disciplines.
The Institute also works closely with the Modern Language Centre, which offers tuition in a number of Indian languages, and encourages all its students to acquire and develop relevant language skills.
Students from India can find further general information about studying at King's on the International web pages.
