Introduction
The mission of the Division of Analytical and Environmental Sciences is to undertake research that links the environmental, health, analytical and toxicological sciences as well as bringing in other disciplines including social science and engineering.
Within the Divisional structure we are seeking opportunities to create sustainable, multidisciplinary networks of excellence with sufficient critical mass to address real world problems.
The Division's research programme encourages an integrated approach combining expertise in areas such as modelling, epidemiology and human-toxicology, environmental exposure, social science, risk and health impact assessment to address significant research questions that require collaboration.
The interface between research and policy, and translation of research results for improved environmental social management policies, is particularly important.
In the field of Environmental Sciences key goals for the Division are:
-
to develop environmental exposure modelling science
-
measurement and effect science
-
biomarker science
-
to contribute to a better understanding of exposure/response relationships
-
to further the potential of exposure research to contribute to the development of evidence-based policies.
