Academic and Professional Services staff in The Dickson Poon School of Law

The Professional Services team and the delivery of all support services within The Dickson Poon School of Law are led by the Director of Administration.

The Director of Administration works closely with the Executive Dean and is a member of the Law Executive Team that is responsible for cultivating and implementing the School’s vision and strategic aims.

Rabia is the head of Professional Services for the School of Law. She works with the Executive Dean to lead a law school that is one of the oldest in England and recognised globally as one of the best in the world, following a transformational gift from Sir Dickson Poon.

Catrin is responsible for the delivery of all education and research activities. She supports the Vice Dean for Education and Vice Dean for Research as well as providing support to the Director of Administration, deputising when necessary.

The Head of Education and Research’s team consists of Student Programmes, Technology Enhanced Learning and Research Support.

Daniël is responsible for the delivery of programme administration and assessments, directly managing the front office staff. Daniel also supports the assessment chairs as well as the Director of UG Programmes and Director of PGT Programmes.

Delphine has a key role in developing the School’s assessment and feedback practice in line with university policy, providing support for all exam related business and organising the production, formatting and submission of examination papers.

Omowunmi supports the Senior Assessments Officer in the delivery of the School’s assessment policy and practice. She is responsible for student assessment data, ensuring that all students have completed the requisite assessment components, providing administrative support for Assessment Boards.

Lydia is responsible for the administration of the LLM, MA and MSc programmes in the School. She provides advice to postgraduate students in respect of programmes regulations, module and pathway selection, timetabling issues and writing project selection and submission. She also manages student records, acting as a key liaison for the personal tutor system.

Gary is responsible for the School’s strategy for technology learning, developing this with key stakeholders and committees, implementing discrete projects outlined in the strategy through bids for external and internal funding. He ensures quality through continuous research of use of technology in education, maintaining and developing the virtual learning environment (KEATS).

Research Support

Alice supports the delivery of the School’s research strategy, co-ordinating the administration of research grants with King’s central teams. She also provides support and guidance to the PhD programme and the student/supervisor community. Her role also includes supporting the School Research Committee, overseeing the submission of applications for PhD scholarship programmes and the relevant committee in the short-listing and awarding processes.

Daniel is responsible for building our student community, ensuring that students are at the heart of our activities and the delivery of our services.  Daniel’s work focuses on student engagement and recruitment strategies, professional skills development and employability, student society support, and internal and external surveys and our league table positioning.  Daniel supports the Diversity & Inclusion work we are committed to integrating into our daily business as well as special projects that ensure we are supporting our student experience effectively.  As Student Experience & Engagement Manager, Daniel is aligned to Vice Dean for Students, Culture & Community.

The Student Experience and Engagement Manager’s team consists of Marketing, Diversity and Inclusion, and Communications and Events.


Senior Marketing Officer

Sameer is the School’s marketing lead, working with academics and the central marketing team to meet recruitment objectives and develop marketing plans, strategies and activities. He is responsible for recruitment events including open days, offer-holder events and keep-warm activities, managing social media channels and initiatives designed for recruitment purposes. He also leads on maintenance of the university’s online prospectus entries for the School, working with teams across the External Relations Directorate to help create and strengthen partnerships in order to meet marketing and recruitment objectives.

Amy provides marketing support to the Senior Marketing Officer to achieve marketing and recruitment objectives. She contributes to the School’s social media channels, looking after key marketing channels such as offer-holder groups and LinkedIn pages. Amy also provides organisational support to recruitment activities such as offer holder days and open days.

Jack’s work focuses on embedding a rigorous and effective diversity and inclusion framework into all areas of the School’s practice. As part of an 18 month contract, Jack is driving the School’s pursuit of the Athena Swan Bronze Award, embedding a School harassment policy for staff and students, formulating and launching a D&I student campaign, and supporting the School’s wellbeing and widening participation initiatives. Jack works closely with the Vice Dean for Students, Culture & Community, the School’s Gender & Equality Champion, and widening participation leads, as well as the university’s central D&I teams.

Zoe is the communications lead in the School, sharing news, events and research with internal and external audiences. She is also the content lead for the School’s intranet and external webpages. Zoe manages the social media channels and develops communications strategies which help keep the School community and its key stakeholders connected in efficient, innovative and effective ways. She works with the Public Relations team to maximise press coverage opportunities, manage the School’s corporate identity, and takes the lead on university-wide communications initiatives on behalf of the School.

Kieran is responsible for creating, managing and repurposing the School’s digital content in line with the School’s strategic communications objectives. He helps manage and promote the School’s social media channels, and works towards harnessing a virtual student community which shares information, supports and enhances the student experience. Kieran supports the Senior Communications Officer in developing the School’s information channels, creating innovative and high quality audio-visual content which aims to capture the School’s output, achievements and ambition. Kieran also supports the Vice Dean for Students, Culture & Community in the School’s cultural initiatives, such as visual arts projects.

Meredith is responsible for planning, co-ordinating and running the School’s expansive events portfolio. This includes conferences, public lectures, symposia and other events in the School. She writes and edits the weekly events update, overseeing the School’s event budget. Meredith is also at the heart of the School’s signature student and staff focused events, such as seasonal events, end of term gatherings, key recruitment activities and annual staff lectures.

Mita co-ordinates the work of The Dickson Poon Transnational Law Institute and the Yeoh Tiong Lay Centre for Politics, Philosophy & Law, supporting the Directors in realising the vision for both the Institute and the Centre. She is also responsible for organising and facilitating signature events to build the Institute and Centre’s presence, including the Transnational Law Summer Institute summer school and PPL centres annual lectures.

As School Business Manager, Chris is responsible for the financial and human resource needs within the School. Key to the role is the planning of module delivery, ensuring all teaching is timetabled and appropriately resourced. Chris is a key contributor to the annual Planning Round and is responsible for arranging non-pay budgets. Chris works closely with the Law Executive Team, the Vice Dean for Education and Vice Dean for Academic Staff.

The School Business Manager’s team comprises of the Centre of European Law, the Centre of Construction Law, and Operations and Resources.

Christine is responsible to the Directors for the management of the Centre of European Law. She manages, promotes and runs the Centre’s extensive programme of events and is responsible for the operation of five distance learning Postgraduate Diploma/MA programmes. Christine also manages the Centre’s finances, producing budgets, accounts and administering the research grant fund and EU funded research projects as well as servicing the Centre’s Advisory Board.

She takes main responsibility for dealing with enquiries about applications for the MSc programme, uploading of teaching materials on to KEATS, administration of coursework, tutorials and dissertations, and bookings for conferences and other events.

As Project Officer (Business Systems), Andy is the lead for ensuring that the School is fully prepared and ready to adopt the College’s new enterprise systems and their associated working practices, by coordinating and guiding the efforts of colleagues across the School and the systems project teams to ensure effective local implementation. In particular, he acts as the School’s Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for the systems project teams during the preparation stages, in collaboration with the wider network of Project Managers (informally referred to as Faculty Readiness Leads) working on this activity.

Legal Researcher & Project Officer for Lord Phillips & Lord Judge

Phillippa undertakes legal research on behalf of Lord Phillips and Lord Judge in relation to a range of legal, law reform, and policy matters for the purposes of international commercial arbitration, House of Lords business, lectures, articles and books. She also manages and facilitates the Lord’s involvement with The Dickson Poon School of Law and King’s, including organising lectures and seminars.

Steve leads in the establishment of the student Law Clinic and the design and delivery of clinical legal education in the School. He represents the School on all relevant bodies including in the regulatory, professional, not for profit and statutory authority sectors. He also promotes the School’s pro bono and clinical work amongst the wider community, ensuring compliance with standards imposed on the School and under any applicable quality mark scheme.
