Our scholarships

Dickson Poon Scholars with PrincipalThe Dickson Poon School of Law is delighted to be able to offer a variety of   scholarships to its students.

Some of these are funded directly by the university and some have been made possible due to the generosity and support of Sir Dickson Poon, the Yeoh family and other friends of the School and King's.

Undergraduate The Dickson Poon Undergraduate Law Scholarship Programme Made possible by the generosity and support of Sir Dickson Poon. At least 25 scholarships will be awarded to the 2016-17 cohort of students. Scholars will receive financial support of £5,000 per year for the duration of the degree programme to which they are admitted. Scholars will also receive complimentary King’s accommodation during the first year of their LLB programme.  Open to all students who apply to study on our LLB programme.

Undergraduate  Tynybedw Law Bursary  Made possible by the generosity and support of Mr Geraint Hughes an alumnus of the university. This bursary covers a significant proportion of the cost of attending university and is worth £25,000 over a three year period. Open to Welsh domiciled students applying for entry on the LLB Law (three year) programme in 2016.  See further details.
Undergraduate Singapore Scholarship Fund Made possible by an alumnus of the university, Mr Alvin Yeo. The Scholarship will help support the winners with the cost of studying. The law specific scholarship is worth £28,333 per annum for three years. An Arts & Sciences scholarship is also available worth £20,000 payable over three years.   Open to Home and/or International students, who hold Singaporean nationality, applying for entry on the LLB Law (three year) programme in 2016. Postgraduate taught (LLM) The Yeoh Tiong Lay LLM Scholarship Programme Made possible by the generous gift  from the family of alumnus Dato' Mark Yeoh. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition fees for the year, and also provide a £10,000 contribution to living costs.

Four scholarships are available for the 2016-17 academic year. One scholarship is reserved for Malaysian residents only, otherwise they are open to all applicants.

Postgraduate taught (LLM)

The Bosco Tso and Emily Ng Scholarship

Made possible by the generous gift from alumnus Mr Bosco Tso. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition fees and provide a contribution to living costs. One scholarship is available for the 2016-17 academic year . Open to all applicants. See further details.  
Postgraduate taught (LLM) The King's Nigerian Law Scholars Fund A friend of the university. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition fees and provide a contribution to living costs. One scholarship is available  the 2016-17 academic year . Open to Nigerian residents only.  See further details.  
Postgraduate Taught (LLM) The Norman Spink Scholarship Fund Made possible by a generous bequest from the late Mr Norman Spink. The scholarship is intended to help support the cost of tuition fees. The scholarship is worth £10,000. 

The scholarship is open to all applicants and is specifically related to Tax Law. For 2016-17 one scholarship will be available.

Postgraduate Taught (LLM) Singapore Scholarship Fund Made possible by an alumnus of the university, Mr Alvin Yeo. The Scholarship will help support the winner with the cost of studying.  This scholarship is open to all Arts & Sciences students. The scholarship is worth £10,000. 

Open to Home and Singaporean resident International students applying for entry on PGT programmes.

Postgraduate Research The Dickson Poon School of Law Postgraduate Research Scholarship Programme Made possible by the generosity and support of Dr Dickson Poon.  Five scholarships covering the cost of fees (UK/EU or overseas) and a stipend of £20,000 per annum. Open to all nationalities. Open to applicants due to commence a full-time research degree programme at The Dickson Poon School of Law.  See further details.
Postgraduate Research Centre for European Law Scholarships

The Dickson Poon School of Law.

Covers tuition fees plus a stipend equivalent to the Research Council rates. Open to all nationalities. Open to applicants due to commence a full-time research degree programme during 2016-17 at The Dickson Poon School of Law. For students doing a dissertation in the broad subject of European Law. See further details
Postgraduate Research  Professor Anthony Guest PhD Scholarship

The Dickson Poon School of Law.

The scholarship is worth £20,000 per annum for three years and can cover tuition fees as well as living costs. Open to all applicants. See further details.
