Funded Projects

Each year, we offer a series of funded projects designed to support and inspire staff in their professional development and deliver innovative and meaningful improvements across King's and the the education sector.

Our projects align with key themes such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), inclusivity, assessment and feedback, sustainability, interdisciplinary collaboration and more. Each project aims to generate lasting impact on the University, our student experience and beyond.

Through this support, King’s Academy helps staff to lead transformative projects that reflect our commitment to a world-class education and the ongoing development of academic excellence.

For Academic Year 25-26, King's Academy has four funded calls covering a wide variety of themes. More information about our funded calls, and how to apply, can be found on our internal pages.

Education for Sustainability Fund

King’s believes that every academic discipline has a role in teaching the socio-ecological crisis and securing a habitable planet for future generations. Education for Sustainability (EfS) is an empowering, future-focused education which helps students become confident to put their learning to use.

The Education for Sustainability Fund helps to embed sustainability into the curriculum and integrate climate research into our teaching across our faculties, giving all King’s students access to environmental and sustainability education.

EfS allows us to train the next generation of global changemakers who strive to address the climate emergency and shape climate action.

College Teaching Fund

The College Teaching Fund (CTF) provides funding to support innovative, strategic education projects across our faculties.

The theme of the CTF typically changes from year to year, depending on emerging topics in higher education.

King’s is allocating part of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years' CTF to support the implementation of the Transforming Assessment for Students at Kings (TASK) framework. Projects supporting TASK will focus on the implementation of principles and practices recommended for the enhancement of assessment and feedback.

In 2023-24, the CTF funded 19 student-staff partnership projects looking at ‘Innovations in teaching, assessment and feedback in the age of Generative AI.
