Clubs and societies

Want to create connections and do something you love? We have a range of exclusive alumni clubs and societies – take part in theatre productions, compete in boating competitions, join a sports team, and more.

King's Sport

King's Sport (a collaboration of the Sport and Active Lifestyle department of King’s and KCLSU) is on a mission to get even more people involved in alumni sport. Working together with King's Alumni Team and KCLA, they are dedicated to fostering a rewarding alumni sports network open to all King’s graduates.

If you are an alumnus and are already part of an existing club, or if you want to start a new one, you will need to register with King’s Sport to enjoy the benefits. All you need to do is email sport@kcl.ac.uk for further details.

The KCLA Games are held every year and is the only alumni-versus-students sports day held by King’s. It is a unique opportunity for an afternoon of sporting action and cheering on teams both old and young. There are teams competing across a number of sports in the men’s and women’s categories from both King’s and GKT. The most popular matches include rugby, football, netball and hockey.

For information on Alumni Hockey, you can contact kahcchairman@gmail.com. If you're interested in Alumni Netball you can contact kclanetball@gmail.com or find them on Facebook!

King's College London Boat Club

The King's College London Boat Club (KCLBC) is keen to welcome alumni to the club, including those with experience in boating or complete beginners.

The club is based at Tideway Scullers School where the fleet of Empacher, Janousek and Aylings boats are racked.

KCLBC is involved in international competitions such as Henley Royal Regatta and the Head of the River race, as well as competing at British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and taking an annual mini-tour to Cambridge.

For more information please email enquiries@theboatclub.org.uk or visit the boat club website.

King's Alumni Theatre Society (KATS)

King's Alumni Theatre Society (KATS) was formed in 2003 for alumni who want to continue to tread the boards after putting their textbooks away for the last time. Members of KATS can meet socially throughout the year, continue their thespian ambitions, all the while maintaining their link with King's. Past productions include 'House of Desires' by Sor Juana Inez de la Crus, among many others.

The group is made up of veteran King'sPlayers and alumni who took part in plays by the different language departments. Everyone is welcome to join, especially if they have an interest in ensemble plays and are willing to explore internationally-sourced material and different literary styles. In just over 10 years we performed plays by French, Spanish, German, Mexican, Austrian and Peruvian playwrights from 1683 to 1986. Our Polish play Princess Ivona was enthusiastically received by the Polish Press in London and went on to become a professional production with a top recommendation and four stars in the Times (2011).

KATS are always looking for new members. For more information on how to join please contact Kos Mantakos.

King's Former Staff Group

The former staff group is made up of former academic and professional services staff. Former staff who sign up to the alumni community can access the full range of alumni benefits, including receiving alumni publications and exclusive event invitations.

If you are interested in joining the alumni community, please contact  forever@kcl.ac.uk or ring 020 7848 3053.
