New InTouch Online magazine

Our ‘Into The Future’ issue of InTouch is out now.

Fancy taking a trip? InTouch has launched its ‘Into the Future’ issue, brought to you in a revamped style, which you can read here: https://intouch.kcl.ac.uk

Join us on a journey around the world as we explore some of the exciting international projects King’s is part of. From fighting restrictive reproductive laws in Columbia, to studying the movements of humpback whales in the Pitcairn Islands, discover how King’s is making a difference all over the world.

But that’s not all – we’re not just taking you around the world, but also on a journey into the future…

We’ve teamed up with Science Gallery London to bring you some of our highlights from their exhibitions and displays on the future of AI. Prepare to be amazed by the surprising possibilities of AI. Highlights include an AI-controlled cat utopia and the use of heart sensors to determine whether AI can see a patient as a person rather than data. Plus, artist Sarah Selby combines pen and paper with DNA storage data in her award-winning installation.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got exclusive interviews with two remarkable alumni who are playing their part in shaping the future. Meet the acclaimed producer behind Doctor Who and Succession, Jane Tranter (English Literature, 1984) and hear about her journey from King’s to the USA to Wales – all via TARDIS. We also sat down with Dr Paul Chan, the visionary behind the . contactless payment system. Join us as he reveals the fascinating story behind its creation and his inspiring journey from innovation to leadership. Finally (and without the aid of a TARDIS) we travel back in time to celebrate the 150th anniversary of King’s College London Students’ Union (KCLSU). Join us as we unravel the highlights from KCLSU’s proud history and meet some of the VIP guests who have graced our halls – from musical legends such as Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters, to distinguished alumni like Desmond Tutu.

InTouch magazine reaches more 140,000 around the world twice a year, and features articles, interviews, and stories from across our alumni community – from career highlights and leadership lessons to reflections on life at King’s.
