Each issue features inspirational stories about King’s graduates and staff who are making the world a better place.

In our main features, we:

Interview King’s alum and trailblazer of women’s rights Dr Lama Al Sulaiman (PhD Nutrition, 2004). Dr Sulaiman was one of the first women to win elected office in Saudi Arabia – just weeks after beating breast cancer. She later became one of the country’s first female politicians.

Interview King’s alum Dev Pragad (Computer Systems & Electronics, 2005; PhD Telecommunications Research, 2009). Dev is the owner and CEO of Newsweek. A transformative business leader, Dev turned Newsweek from a struggling print-first legacy publication into a trusted, future-facing global news and multi-media organisation with a global reach of millions.

Interview King’s alum Timur Mamedov (Computer Science, 2017). After graduating, Timur co-founded VEED, an AI-based company that makes video creation and editing accessible for everyone. We caught up with him to find out more about how King’s supported him and why this inspired him to give back.

Look back through the remarkable history of Guy’s Hospital, whose Medical School became part of the King’s family after a merger in 1998. The venerable institution celebrated 300 years since it admitted its first patients earlier this year.

Celebrate the work of our award-winning King’s Legal Clinic. This initiative makes legal advice accessible to those who would otherwise struggle to afford or access it. Recent cases focus on human rights and the environment, reuniting families separated by conflict or displacement, and health and homelessness.

Take a sneak peek behind the redevelopment of the South West Wing of Bush House. This will officially open in 2027, and the building will be a lively, inclusive hub where learning, research, support and wellbeing sit side by side.

Open our Visitors Book to see the high-profile guests who’ve visited King’s recently. These include His Majesty King Charles III, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Lisa Nandy MP, award‑winning artist and broadcaster Sir Grayson Perry, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, Minister for the Digital Economy Baroness Liz Lloyd and President of Iceland Halla Tómasdóttir.
