Hear from our scholars about their experiences

Rifah RezaRifah Nanjiba Reza | Accounting, Accountability & Financial Management

The lecturers at King's Business School have been incredibly supportive and helpful - especially during the dissertation period when everything felt so far and out of reach. The careers team had also been wonderful in their support, leading me to a role in my dream company.

I remember when I was applying for scholarship and wasn’t expecting I would get it as there were tons of people applying for the same. But when I received maximum scholarship, I was on cloud nine. I was so relieved about the fee reduction through scholarship as the original fee would have been too much to pay. As far as my experience in King’s is concerned, I have done a plain BCom (Bachelor in Commerce) in India from a prestigious university. And I directly enrolled for a core banking and finance course. At first, I was so concerned about how I was going to study such a difficult course. When I first started with the course, people around me were elder to me, with few years of experience in the field and great knowledge of the same. It gave me utter stress as of how I would cope up with all of this. But then as the days passed by my professors, my personal tutor and the entire King’s facilities supported me throughout. I was so glad about the support I got throughout my course. Not just academically but also personally. I am grateful for the advanced knowledge I received through this course and made me feel confident because of the gain of knowledge. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to King's College for this transformative experience.

King's Business School has provided me with a community of professors and peers working in the business and academic realms of digital marketing. The scholarship has empowered me to establish meaningful connections within this academic community. Furthermore, the scholarship has aided me in focusing on my studies by reducing the cost of tuition fees. During my term 1 class, I undertook a consultancy project that involved practical outputs on how to increase the number of visitors to Mercato Metropolitano through the use of social media. It was a valuable learning experience!

My experience at King's Business School was truly enriching. The MSc in Economics and Finance program offered a solid academic foundation, and the faculty's dedication was evident throughout. The scholarship I received was instrumental in more ways than one. Beyond financial support, it allowed me to actively participate in events organised by the scholarship team. I especially appreciated sessions featuring King’s Alumni, featuring an entrepreneur, and discussions on venture capital in the UK. These events added a practical dimension to my studies, offering insights that extended beyond the classroom. I am grateful for the well-rounded support I received during my time at King's Business School. The scholarship not only eased financial pressures but also provided real-world perspectives that enhanced my overall learning experience. I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills gained as I embark on my professional journey.

Throughout my professional career in the Fintech industry, I’ve always recognised that there is an urgent need to work towards better financial inclusivity for women which is what motivated me to pursue an MSc in Economics and Finance at King’s College of London. However, while I was thrilled to receive my acceptance letter, I was a little worried about not being able to fully focus on my coursework due to the cost of living crisis and the additional challenge of being diagnosed with Stage-4 endometriosis. I was incredibly fortunate to have received the prestigious King’s Business School Scholarship. It allowed me to dedicate a hundred per cent of my time towards my academics and prioritising my health. While pursuing the MSc, I was able to research better solutions towards the improvement of women’s financial inclusivity. This culminated into my final dissertation which was based on the utilisation of Fintech to achieve financial inclusion of women in emerging economies. It also enabled me to pursue opportunities outside the classroom. I was able to participate in the Principal's Global Leadership Award programme at the School of Global Affairs and I had even pursued a short performing arts programme at the Soho Theatre, London! The King's Business School Scholarship programme supported us by forming a peer network of fellow scholars which, in turn, served as an incredible opportunity to make new friends! Additionally, it paved the way for networking sessions with exceptionally talented King’s alumni that included successful med-tech startup founders, women in the Civil Services and bright leaders of the future. It was inspiring to learn from their stories and I benefitted greatly from their mentorship. I would like to thank the wonderful King's Business School Scholarships Team for such an enriching experience and I am exceedingly grateful to the KCL community for all their love and support. #ForeverKing’s!

My time at King's Business School has been a transformative journey, fuelled by the opportunities provided through a scholarship. The dynamic Human Resource Management and Organisational Analysis MSc Course not only deepened my business acumen but also facilitated profound personal and professional growth. A highlight of my academic experience was the series of HAPN events, featuring industry leaders as speakers. Their insights brought real-world relevance to my studies, bridging the gap between theory and practical application. These interactions enriched my education, setting the stage for a successful career. The CIPD events were instrumental in providing a unique perspective on human resource practices, offering valuable insights that allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Beyond academia, the vibrant social scene at King's Business School added a layer of richness to my experience. The King's Business School boat galas were glamorous and provided an excellent platform for networking, resulting in enduring friendships. Situated in the heart of London, the campus itself is a picturesque haven. The charming surroundings, combined with the city's energy, created an unforgettable backdrop for my academic pursuits. I express sincere gratitude for the scholarship that made this journey possible. I’m forever grateful to King's Business School and my scholarship for giving me chance to shine.

My experience at King's Business School was unreal and so motivating. The faculty and the course had so much to offer and the course was planned so well to ensure it provides the students the perfect study-life balance. The cohort was small with a personal touch, and the subjects were all contributing and career building. The 40 hours of part-time work still left plenty of time for the international students to explore the city and get exposure in London. Life at King's Business School was a cult where such diverse student base helps every individual build relations. Being an opportunist and an enthusiastic traveler, King's Business School and the scholarship support gave me enough time to study, experience different/new experiences, and travel around.
