Impact

As one of the first and now most established Comparative Literature departments in the UK, we strive to lead the field in our historical, geographical, and linguistic coverage and our research quality. 

Our staff have secured major grants and awards from the AHRC, the Leverhulme Trust, EU-Marie Curie, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of the Arts and Sciences, and Arts Council England.  

Since Comparative Literature is not a unit of assessment for the REF, our staff contribute to the REF returns alongside colleagues from the following Faculty of Arts & Humanities Departments:
