Study abroad

Students on the BA Film Studies have the opportunity to spend one semester of study abroad, usually in Semester 2 of the 2nd year of study, or in Semester 1 of the 3rd year. Film Studies study abroad opportunities are available at universities in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Asia. Popular destinations include the University of California Los Angeles, University of Toronto, University of Michigan, and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3.

Studying abroad can greatly enhance your academic experience, cultural outlook, and life experience. You may be able to study subjects not offered at King’s as each university department in our Study Abroad program has its own specialisations and strengths and many of them allow Film Studies students to take classes in other disciplines. Study abroad is an opportunity to live in and learn about another country and city, under the guidance of professors and lecturers both at King’s and at the host university. The life experience that comes with living abroad for an extended period can also enhance your long-term professional prospects. Our Study Abroad students learn the value of global perspectives, international contacts and networks, and interdisciplinary study.
