Close-knit community
Because we are such a close-knit community, we stay in regular contact with our alumni, who frequently come back to the Department to speak to our students about their experiences after graduating. With German in huge demand, our graduates are highly employable, and we are delighted to have one of the highest rates of employment in the UK.
German graduates embark on a diverse range of careers
Recent graduates have gone on to work at major political institutions (the UN, the Treasury, the Civil Service Fast Stream), in journalism (the BBC, The Guardian, the Financial Times), in the Arts (Sotherby’s, the Courtauld Gallery, the Southbank Centre), in the Law, and in graduate careers in management and business (Deloitte, PWC, John Lewis) across the UK, Germany and the world.
Enriching career pospects
Many of our students also progress on to further study, often returning to King’s for MA and PhD programmes to enrich their career prospects even further. We have regular alumni speed meets as part of our careers programme, which start from your very first year at King’s.
