Sarah Guerra – Director of Equality Diversity & Inclusion
I am the Director of King's College London’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and spearhead the College’s strategic vision and implementation plans on diversity, equality and inclusion for the whole campus community.
With the support from King's senior leadership, I have instigated a suite of strategic projects to revolutionise attitudes towards diversity and inclusion, championed the use of data to build an evidence base for all activity and is supporting King’s in realising its 'inclusion journey'.
In addition to my work at King's, I sit on the Research Excellence Framework's Equality and Diversity Advisory Panel as well as the AdvanceHE's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
A born and bred black Londoner and mother of four daughters in a blended family, I have worked in Diversity & Inclusion in several organisations in other sectors including being a Non-Executive Director of the Civil Service Race Forum.

Helena Mattingley – Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
I am the Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion for King’s College London. This role translates the strategy and institutional D&I objectives into programmes and work-streams, and works with the D&I team to deliver this. I manage several large piece of work as well as the operational side of the team. I am leading on the Institutional Athena SWAN work, as well as managing legal compliance, incoming D&I FOIs and the Harassment Advisor Service.

Anne Carty – Transformation Project Officer
I was originally seconded to the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Team in March 2018 for six months as the Transformation Project Manager to manage the implementation of the new university-wide flexible operating model.
My secondment has been extended until the end of February 2020 to manage the update of all King's digital content to ensure it is accessible to people with disabilities.
Prior to this I managed the collection of data for UniForum, a cross-university benchmarking study and worked on the Transformation Network. I have previously worked on clinical guidelines for NICE, British Standards and in publishing books and journals.
Alex Prestage – EDI Manager (Partnerships & Projects Team)
I manage our team of EDI practitioners working across faculties and functions, and for leading King's engagement with Race Equality Charter.
My identity and experiences as a queer, white man with chronic illnesses have shaped my journey and work in EDI.
In my time at King's I've worked to support faculties and departments with their Athena SWAN accreditation, managed King's 2019 Race Equality Self Assessment, and developed our inclusion offer for trans people and parents and carers.

Nicole Robinson – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant
I am one of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Consultants in the Consultancy Team. I lead our work on LGBTQ+ inclusion, including our Stonewall Workplace Equality Index Submission, the More than Mentoring Scheme and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. I am also currently undertaking work with Working Families to support our institutional Athena SWAN accreditation.
Prior to 2019, I was the Programme Manager for It Stops Here – King’s campaign to prevent and respond to bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct and hate crime. I am a King’s alumnus and previously worked for King’s College London Students’ Union.

India Jordan – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant
I’m India and I am one of the three Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Consultants. My portfolio focuses on disability inclusion, and I am responsible for managing and delivering our university-wide Disability Inclusion Transformation Plan for staff. Alongside this, I lead on our review, development and implementation of Diversity and Inclusion policies. Other areas of my portfolio include supporting and developing staff networks, oversight of Diversity Matters training and developing the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Forum. I am also a part of the in the Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care Faculty for one day a week developing D&I activity and providing advice and support.
Born in Doncaster, my background as a queer working class person and understanding of inequality has shaped my career and the work I do in EDI. I am also a committee member of the LGBTQ+ Network, Proudly Kings.

Safrina Ahmed – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Project Officer
I’m Safrina and I am an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Project Officer here at King’s. I work 2.5 days in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities to help the Faculty further their Diversity and Inclusion objectives, and 2.5 days focusing on university wide projects – namely the Race Equality Charter Mark and Ally training.
Prior to this, I worked on King’s It Stops Here campaign. I researched and developed resources tackling bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct for staff and students, as well as additional work which looked at reducing instances of religious hate crime
Lauren Blackwood – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Project Officer
Hi! My name is Lauren and I have an academic background in Philosophy and Sociology where my work centred feminist, anti-racist and queer scholarship. I am one of three Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Project Officers at KCL. I work with the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences (FoDOCS) two days a week, and the other three days I support the Dignity at King’s project.
Navigating higher education as a black, queer, working-class, neurodiverse woman for five years has given me a great insight to the ways in which universities can be changed for the betterment of marginalised staff and students. I love hearing from and touching base with those whose experiences I work to improve, so please do not hesitate to get in touch whether it’s to pass on feedback or to have a general chat about intersectional feminism!
Jemma Adams – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Project Officer
I am Jemma, one of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Project Officers. I work two days a week in the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care and the rest of my time is spent on other EDI projects. My interest in matters of equality, diversity and inclusion started through engagement with feminist theology and theologies of sexuality and gender. I have come to King’s having worked in the education sector for the last five years, specifically working with Church of England schools on projects and leadership programmes, including EDI focused projects.
Talah Anderson – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Intern
I join King’s College London as an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Project Intern. In this role, I will spend half of my time embedded in the Faculty of Social Sciences & Public Policy providing perspectives, methods and approaches on behalf of the Diversity & Inclusion sub-function. A significant proportion of the remainder of my time will be spent working on Stonewall projects.
Tyler John – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Intern
Hi, there! My name is Tyler, and I am one of the new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Project Interns! In my time at King’s, I’ll be working on a range of projects, including Disability Inclusion, More than Mentoring, and a load of other exciting things. I’ll also be splitting my time with the Dickson Poon School of Law, where I’ll be working with the Faculty on their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
My experiences as a gay, mixed-race, working-class person have been so influential in shaping my understanding of the world, and I’m super excited to continue to expand this in my role at King’s! If you see me around, say hi – I’m always happy to chat!
