Title: A blood-based diagnostic test for the early detection of Alzheimer's disease.
Summary: Using sophisticated proteomic techniques, my current work focuses on developing a blood-based diagnostic test to indentify Alzheimer's disease before the onset of symptoms. Currently the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease is often captured too late, is inconsistent and costly; therefore, a cheap and simple blood test that can be routinely used in clinics would be ideal. This blood test could also contribute to the selection and stratification of patients for therapeutic drug trials.

Summary: My PhD project is examining the effects on patients and costs of the redesign of specialist continuing care services within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust using a range of outcome measures including quality of life and safety incidents.
Title: Screening FDA candidate compounds in an in vitro TREM2 cell model of Alzheimer's disease.
Summary: My PhD project is centered around developing and utilising a series of compound screening assays using an in vitro TREM2 cell model of Alzheimer's disease, in order to identify potential treatments for Alzheimer's disease patients in whom TREM2 function is compromised.
