Dr Agrim Gupta

NMR Facility Manager

Biography

Dr Agrim Gupta is the NMR Facility Manager at King’s College London, supporting the application of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy across diverse research fields, with a focus on biomolecular systems. With a background in structural biology and protein NMR, Agrim brings extensive experience in both the technical and biological aspects of spectroscopic research.

Agrim earned a BS-MS in Physical Sciences from IISER Mohali, India, where they studied antimicrobial peptides using solution-state NMR. He completed a PhD at Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria, focusing on the structural characterization of the calcium-sensing protein STIM1 using multidimensional NMR, protein purification, and biophysical techniques including DLS and CD spectroscopy.

Following his doctorate, Agrim Gupta held a postdoctoral research position at the CNRS in Marseille, France, where they expanded his expertise in NMR-based structural biology and gained hands-on experience with Microscale Thermophoresis (MST), contributing to interdisciplinary research projects in molecular biophysics.

At King’s, Agrim manages the high-field NMR facility, providing expert support in experimental design, data acquisition, and analysis. Agrim's core interests include method development for protein NMR, integration of NMR with complementary structural techniques, and fostering collaborations that leverage NMR to address questions in biochemistry, drug discovery, and molecular biology.
