What's new this academic year: Key changes and processes

2025 to 2026 wooden blocks

Here are some things you need to know for the 2025–26 academic year, including changes on campus and policy updates to help you settle in and start the year smoothly.

Supporting your success

Personal tutoring during your studies

Your personal tutors are here to support you throughout your academic journey - whether that’s helping you settle in, guiding your progress, or pointing you towards useful resources and opportunities.

We’ve updated our Personal Tutor Code of Practice to a new policy as of 1 September, so you can get the most out of your studies and connect with your Personal Tutor (PT) during your time at King’s.

Changes to module feedback and evaluation

From September 2025, you’ll be asked for feedback at both the start and end of each module so we can support your success from day one. Based on your feedback, we’ve also made end of module evaluations shorter and quicker to complete.

Your module leaders will respond to your feedback in a timely way, and will demonstrate how it’s being used to improve your experience and that of future students.

Student Representatives will be trained on these changes, and you can tell them about your experiences so they can raise any concerns with programme management in your faculty.

New wayfinding on campus

To make it easier for you to navigate around our campuses, we’re fixing the old and often confusing room and building signage with an easier to understand system.

Starting with the King’s Building this September, we're rolling out new signage across all buildings over the next two years.

Here’s what you need to know.

Digital graduation certificates

Starting this summer, graduating undergraduate and taught postgraduate students can now access their digital award certificate on Gradintelligence. Certificates are typically available about 4 weeks after your results email, and you'll be notified when they're ready.

Gradintelligence also stores other documents from your time at King's – find out more including how to check your account for access.

Keeping each other safe

New regulations on harassment and sexual misconduct

To ensure we're all doing what we can to create an inclusive, safe community, please familiarise yourself with our preventing and addressing bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct webpage, which has key information for everyone at King's.

You’ll need to set time aside during re-enrolment (or enrolment if you’re new to King’s) to take the essential training modules.

Take the training on Student Records.

Freedom of Expression

Alongside our joint statement with KCLSU, our new Code of Practice policy framework helps us uphold the values of Freedom of Expression & Academic Freedom across the King's community and meet our legal duties to secure and promote lawful freedom of expression.

The Office for Students has created a guide to help you understand your free speech rights and explains what you can expect from King's, when you can exercise your right to free speech, and when it can be restricted.

Keeping you safe on campus

To help keep our community safe, it’s essential that we can alert you if there is an emergency on or near our campuses. That’s why we’re introducing safety alert messaging via the SafeZone app and SMS.

To make sure we can reach you if an incident occurs in the future, please:

  1. Update your mobile number in Student Records
  2. Download the SafeZone app for iOS or Android, using your King’s email address to login.
