Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) was created in 1920, through the union of three well-established higher education institutions: the Medical School, the Polytechnic School and the Law School. UFRJ has around 44,000 students, based at three campuses and studying more than 700 different courses. In addition to teaching and research units, UFRJ comprises seven museums, eight university hospitals and the third deepest ocean basin in the world for research on offshore oil exploration.
King’s has a College-wide cooperation agreement with UFRJ, which focuses particularly on student and staff exchanges.
