SDO Scoping Exercise
SDO Scoping Exercise on Generalist Services for Adults at the End of Life
A scoping exercise was commissioned by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Service Delivery and Organisation (SDO) Programme to identify research priorities in order to inform future commissioning of research. This involved both a review of current research and a consultation exercise with providers, commissioners, user groups and academics across England and Scotland.
Priorities for research included defining and evaluating models of collaborative working, out of hours provision and models of care in hospital as well as reviewing place of care and death for people dying from non-malignant disease. Important cross cutting themes for these priorities included patient and carer perspectives and health economic implications.
