School Partners

Our partnerships with around 200 schools across the Greater London Area enable us to attract high quality graduates who are well equipped for teaching and who bring excellent subject knowledge to the profession. The partnership process runs from recruitment of students, where schools are invited to join interview panels, right through to providing our partners with high quality information on graduates they employ.

Key benefits to schools of working in partnership with King’s

  • Up to £500 per student placement for partner schools.
  • Prioritised advertising of vacancies for all partnership schools and the opportunity to recruit PGCE students who have completed placements at your school.

Our partnership system

We recognise that schools have different levels of resources and time available; because of this we offer two types of partnership. Full details of our partnerships are explained in our Partnership Booklet.

Mentor Events

Staff working at partnership schools and involved in the mentoring or training of PGCE trainees can sign up for these events online.

All events take place at the King's College Waterloo Campus - specific room details will be sent to delegates after they register for an event.

Mentor training sessions are designed to help those new to mentoring or being a PCM to develop the skills they need to support trainees. The sessions are also useful for those who need to refresh their skills or for mentors who may not have worked with King’s in the past. Dates to be confirmed.

Mentor meetings take place twice per academic year for each subject. They are a vital part of the PGCE partnership between King’s and its partnership schools. During these meetings King's PGCE Subject Directors will update schools' Subject Mentors on important developments in the PGCE programme and invite mentors to share strategies for addressing training issues. These meetings also provide an opportunity to discuss any issues, which may have arisen as part of you supporting King’s PGCE students. Dates to be confirmed.
