Gamechangers

Many people face systemic barriers to entrepreneurship when starting a business. Gamechangers seeks to change this.

Launched in 2023, our Gamechangers programme (formerly Changemakers) supports King’s students from a widening participation background to find, develop and launch an idea into the world.

Over the course of nine weeks, you’ll be paid to work on a problem you’re passionate about solving. If you have an idea for a new business, a not-for profit or community project, we want to hear from you!

What’s involved:

  • Attend training and mentoring sessions with the EI team and our Experts-in-Residence to learn the fundamentals of identifying a problem, creating a viable solution and getting the solution off the ground.
  • Work independently to put learning into practice and develop your idea or project by conducting customer research and validation, competitor analysis and defining a value proposition.
  • Explore the Seven Skills of an Entrepreneurial Mindset, developing your own entrepreneurial skills to address the world’s challenges and UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Attend meetings to connect with other Gamechangers, to share ideas and support each other to move forward.

Applications for our 2024 Gamechangers programme are now open. You can access the full details and apply via King's CareersConnect. You'll need to login to your CareersConnect account to view full information.

Gamechangers forms part of the EI’s commitment to understanding and removing barriers to entrepreneurship. The programme is designed to address systematic barriers to starting a business in connection to access, networks, resources and funding, whilst enhancing students’ employability and ability to positively impact the world.

My experience on the programme has been transformative. Engaging with a diverse group of passionate individuals and learning about the inspiration behind their ideas has been very enlightening. I joined for the experience, and it has exceeded my expectations. I have learnt so many new things and have developed many new skills.
