Opportunities with Circle U.

Creating international opportunities

With our Circle U. partner universities, we have created thematic platforms that facilitate the development of collaborative joint activities in education and research.

At the heart of this infrastructure is our Academic Chairs Programme, a network of appointed academics designed to build strong, enduring connections across institutions. Academic Chairs play a key role in sharing knowledge, sparking dialogue, and co-creating impactful projects.

From innovation labs to knowledge hubs, Circle U. provides a range of opportunities for academics, professional service staff and students to work with peers and universities across Europe.

Open Campus

The Circle U. Open Campus serves as Circle U.’s "virtual university" hub, providing a gateway for educational opportunities within the alliance. It brings together learning opportunities available to students and staff, supporting the design of engaging learning content, and accelerates the adoption of innovative teaching methods. Staff at King’s who are interested in developing educational programmes for the Open Campus are encouraged to contact the Circle U. team at King’s.

Knowledge Hubs

The Circle U. Knowledge Hubs for Democracy, Climate, Global Health and Artificial Intelligence are collaborative spaces where academics, Professional Service staff, students, and global and associated partners work together to drive significant societal impact. By fostering an inter- and transdisciplinary approach, the Hubs extend the capabilities of individual universities, offering a dynamic environment for innovation and collaboration across nine institutions.

The InCU.bator creates collaborative learning experiences by engaging associate partners alongside public, private and civic actors. It offers a range of challenge-based and co-creative formats, including hackathons, interactive games, and other dynamic activities. Designed to operate within authentic, work-life relevant settings, the InCU.bator places students at the heart of the social innovation process, empowering them to drive meaningful change.

Academic Chairs at King’s

Each platform is supported by a team of academics from across the Circle U. partner universities, enabling rich collaboration on shared goals and interdisciplinary ventures.

Chairs based at King’s College London benefit from dedicated travel funds, empowering them to connect directly with peers, engage in meaningful exchanges, and build lasting networks.

If you have any questions about the platforms, please reach out to the relevant Academic Chair below:
