French for Medical and Humanitarian Professions Level 1, Part 3

The course is aimed at: students with an interest in French focusing on the medical field; students planning to work in international development and humanitarian settings; medical staff who want to work in a French speaking country; and NGO staff who want to join a humanitarian mission in a French speaking country. Ideally students should have completed 30 hours of tuition prior to joining Part 3 of the course.

French Level 1, Part 1

Build foundational French skills by learning the alphabet, days of the week, numbers, nationalities, and more. Practise how to do things like greet people and introduce yourself or others, share personal information and express yourself politely.

Speed up your French study with five weeks of intensive, three-hour evening lessons. French Level 1, Part 2

Understand how to formulate questions with est-ce que and qu’est-ce que and use à and de prepositions before countries and places. Learn the present tense verbs venir, boire, vouloir, mettre, and prendre, and things like adjective agreements and quantities. Start working with the passé composé and imperfect past tenses.

Move on to the present tense with pouvoir, devoir and reflexive verbs, and use the ‘il faut’ expression of obligation. Continue studying the past tense, and start learning the future tense. Practice how to apply for a job, talk about your hobbies, discuss your health, and much more.

French Level 2, Part 1

Continue your French lessons with the perfect tense + agreement, the Negative form (ne…rien/personne/jamais/plus), and duration (pendant/il y a/depuis). Learn how to use the present tense (c’était/il y avait/il faisait), pronouns(y/en) and relative pronouns (qui/ que/où). Practise how to write a postcard, describe a place, express your feelings and beyond.
