Language lessons for everyone

Our courses are open to everyone, not just King's students. We welcome anyone who wants to learn a language at one of our central London campuses, or online.

We teach over 20 different languages in our evenings or Saturday morning classes. Most evening language courses take place over 10 weeks, but some languages are offered as five-week or one-week intensive courses.

Discover our different courses

Our standard language courses are:

Designed to help you learn a language in a sustainable way, with plenty of time to complete homework in between lessons.
Delivered on campus or online (please check timetable).
Taught once a week on weeknights.
Each course is split into parts, and one part can be completed in 10 weeks (15 hours of teaching).
Each language is divided into levels, and there are three parts to each level. You'll complete a level after 30 weeks of lessons (45 hours of teaching).

Our intensive language courses are:

Designed to help you learn a language with longer lessons that are taught over fewer weeks.
Delivered on campus or online (please check timetable).
Choose from weekly lessons or a one-week intensive course for beginners (summer term only).
Each class lasts for three hours.
Each course is split into parts, and one part can be completed with 15 hours of teaching.
Each language is divided into levels, with three parts in each level. You'll complete a level after 45 hours of teaching.

All students get access to the Language Resources Centre, which offers free speaking practice with a native speaker. You can also make use of our wide variety of resources, workshops, and events. Plus, our multilingual learning advisors are always on hand to help you make the most of the facilities.

We employ over 100 teaching staff who are native speakers of the language they teach and have in-depth knowledge of language teaching methodology. Many of our teachers also have expertise in other areas, such as journalism, politics, business, international affairs, and the health sector.
